Gerald "Jerry" L. Bradshaw Obituary - 2021 (2024)

Mr. Gerald L. “Jerry” Bradshaw, 72, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart following an extended illness on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 8:15 pm. He was born in Elkhart on January 4, 1949 to the late Elmer and Betty (Moore) Bradshaw and married Sue Ann Tyson on September 5, 1969 in Elkhart. She survives at home after nearly 52 wonderful years together.

He is also survived by his son Gerald “Jay” (Nancy) Bradshaw and daughter Wanda (Richard) Overmyer, both of Elkhart; grandchildren Christina (Joe Stafford) Bradshaw, Rich Overmyer and Kelsey Bradshaw; great grandchildren Dylan and Noah Stafford, Emma Overmyer and Owen Bailey, and a host of extended family and good friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Carey Bradshaw.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are hosting Jerry’s Celebration of Life Services on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 5:00 pm, with visitation beginning at 3 pm. Cremation will follow services and burial at Adamsville Cemetery will be held at a later date. Pastor David Lade of Bethel Assembly of God Church of Elkhart will officiate the service.

Jerry was a talented electronics specialist who did everything from electrical work in the RV industry to owning and operating several small electronics businesses including TNT Electronics of Elkhart. He was a custodian for Baugo Schools for many years as well and enjoyed working with the students there. He also attended Bethel Assembly of God for almost 45 years and had served as a board member there.

Jerry cherished his time with his family; especially the grands and loved any reason to get everyone together. The feeling was mutual, especially with the younger crowd, since Grandpa’s place has a swimming pool and a hot tub. He also loved to eat and watch Notre Dame football (Which are the perfect things to do together!) and was an avid HAM radio operator, known as KA9WNO.

Caring, generous and honest, Jerry was a “straight shooter” and was not afraid to tell you what he thought. He’d give you the shirt off his back whenever he could, but if you were wrong, you were wrong, and he’d have no regrets telling you so. Jerry worked hard, richly loved his wife and family, and did the best he could to make living in this world just a little it better for everyone. He was truly thankful for God’s daily blessings.

Memorial donations made in Jerry’s memory may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
