Bradley Bradshaw, age 58, of Lindsay (2024)

August 16, 1956December 7, 2014

Bradley Rex Bradshaw died Sunday morning December 7, 2014 after a six month battle with cancer. Brad loved his Lord Jesus and clothed in His righteousness he entered Glory leaving behind all the pain & struggle of this life. We have no doubt he heard his Becky squeal with delight as they were reunited.

Brad was born August 16, 1956 in Ely, Nevada to Karl & Mae Bradshaw; they took him home to the family ranch in Duckwater. He attended the two room Duckwater School through the eighth grade and then boarded in Ely to attend White Pine High School. Growing up on the ranch gave him a great work ethic; learning to handle horses & cattle, irrigate, mechanic, run machinery and whatever else needed done. Brad attended the University of Nevada-Reno for a short time before he returned to the ranch to help his father. In 1978 his father died and he took over working the ranch with his mother.

One of the joys of Brad’s life, as a teen, was catching wild mustangs off the open range.

In 1980 Brad met his wife Barbara Maupin and they were married on April 11, 1981. He was a faithful, loving, devoted husband throughout their thirty three and a half years of marriage. Their first child, Rebekah (Becky) was born in 1984. In 1985 they moved to Sunnyside, Nevada working for Chet Johnson. Chet was a wonderful, Godly mentor to Brad as he struggled through several losses in his family. In 1989 their son James (Jim), was born. Brad loved being a father and taught his children not only how to work hard but also to laugh and enjoy life. In 1994 the family moved to Cameron, Montana where Brad worked on the Bar K Ranch; eventually becoming manager. On July 3, 2002 his precious daughter Becky was killed while helping work cattle on the ranch. This tragedy took its toll and in 2004 he left the ranch and purchased a small engine repair business in Ennis, Montana. Brad made many friends during this new chapter of his life. Due to the recession he closed the business in 2010 and moved to Lindsay, Montana to work for Frank Eaton & Sons Ranch. He especially enjoyed learning about wheat farming. He was working there until the time of his cancer diagnosis and he greatly appreciated all the help and housing they continued to provide.

Volunteer work was very important to Brad, he was involved in church leadership and worship team for many years. He spent over 35 years in Emergency Medical Services as a First Responder and EMT. He was the 4H Shooting Sports leader for 12 years in the Madison Valley as well as a member of the Madison Valley Rural Fire Department for 3 years.

Brad was a quiet spoken man of deep faith who was generous and caring towards everyone. He was always a tease, but never in an ugly way, with a mischievous smile. He leaves a huge void behind and will be greatly missed.

Brad is survived by his wife Barbara, his son James, older brother Gordon and his partner Judy, eldest sister Anita (Deva Kaur), sister-in-law Norma Bradshaw and several nieces and nephews. Brad was preceded in death by his daughters: Rebekah Mae & Nancy Grace, his sons: Glenn Maupin & Cliff, his parents Karl & Mae, his older sister Marcia Forman, brother-in-law Richard Forman, nephew Rich Forman and eldest brother Barry.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service for Brad on January 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Break Forth Bible Church in Glendive. A second memorial service will take place in Ennis, Montana sometime this spring. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Circle is in charge of the arrangements.
